wear the wild

Wear the Wild is a community collaboration uniting local artists and young people in the city of Darebin. Luna and Sarah joined young people from Darebin Youth Hub’s Rainbow Lounge in a series of hands on and digital workshops and creative mentorship exploring wearable art while highlighting environmental issues.

Inspired by the flora and fauna of Darebin’s Parklands and creeks, Wear The Wild exhibition demonstrates how recycled materials diverted from landfill can be reimagined into fantastic and creative wearable art pieces. This project culminated in a digital photographic exhibition as part of the Spring Fuse Festival 2021, showcasing the artist's work alongside costume designs created by participating young people.

This project was commissioned by FUSE, Darebin’s multi- arts festival, through the FUSE Fund.

Fast Fashun

This project is a creative response to the impact of fast fashion. Fast Fashun is a collective of artists who use their skills to create awareness about the climate emergency. During Fast Fashun workshops, Sarah and Luna teach participants sewing and craft skills. As part of the project they also up-cycle clothing and textile waste into wearable art.
